About Me
I’m Abu Naser Md Shahin Akanda, a finance and business analysis professional specializing in data analysis and data-driven decision-making. I hold an MBA from the University of Dhaka and am at the final level of CIMA. Over my 12+ year career, I’ve collaborated with global leaders like Coca-Cola, Tata Motors, and Hero MotoCorp. My experience spans across FMCG with Meena Bazaar, Kazi Tea Estate, and Gemini Seafood, and extends to the automobile industry with Yamaha and Nitol Tata. I’ve also worked with leading companies in household and electric appliances like WALTON, ACC, and ZEM, and ventured into various sectors including agribusiness, IT, power generation, and aviation. Currently, I lead the Business Planning and Analysis team at BRAC Bank PLC. My research focuses on the economy, small businesses, and the impact of information technology on socio-economic elements.
My research focuses on poor women and girls in fifteenth- and sixteenth-century Florence. I am interested in how they negotiated their interactions with the city and how civic authorities attempted both to restrict and facilitate their lives.
I currently teach at The Open University.
